Director of Strategy & Planning
Wadha Al Ghfeli is the Director of Strategy & Planning at the Dubai Islamic Economy Development Centre (DIEDC). In this role, she oversees the development and execution of strategies and initiatives in line with the directives of the Government of Dubai.
Al Ghfelii’s responsibilities include setting budgets and timelines, monitoring performance, and updating the board of directors on the progress achieved. To date, she has been instrumental in managing a host of key initiatives and events including DIEDC’s refreshed Islamic economy strategy for 2017-2021, the Global Islamic Economy Summit 2015 and 2016, and the World Islamic Economic Forum 2014.
Al Ghfeli has almost 12 years of experience in determining business needs, identifying solutions and setting strategic priorities within the government sector in the UAE, where she continues to streamlining organisational performance, as well as strategy development and implementation. Prior to joining DIEDC, she served as Senior Strategic Analyst at Al Ain Municipality and as Director of the Performance Management Section at the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Community Development (now Ministry of Culture and Knowledge Development).
Wadha Al Ghfelii holds an MBA and a BSc in Information Systems from the UAE University in Al Ain, as well as an executive certificate from the Ashridge Leadership and Management Program, UK. She is also a certified European Foundation for Quality Management (EFQM) Assessor.
