Dubai organised the Halal Expo for the first time on the sidelines of the 19th edition of the Gulfood Exhibition. The expo showcased halal food products from around the world and witnessed the participation of many specialised companies in a sector that is considered crucially important to more than a billion Muslims globally.
While visiting the Gulfood Exhibition, Sheikh Mohammed ordered that the Halal Expo be organized annually and expanded, given the fact that it marked a first-of-its-kind initiative for the region and the world at large, and generated wide attention from producers, manufacturers, distributors, and investors engaged in the halal food sector.
